The Moore-Youse Home Museum contains numerous artifacts of Historic Muncie, including furnishings, paintings, documents, and photos. The Museum is located next door to the Delaware County Society offices at 120 E. Washington Street in downtown Muncie.

When Mary (Youse) Maxon died in 1982, she left her house and its contents to the Delaware County Historical Society, with the provision that the organization establish and maintain a museum of Delaware County History.

The house first came into the Moore family after Samuel Wilson purchased the house in early 1864 and later in the year passed it on to his daughter, Clara Jane.  Clara had married C. W. Moore and they had two small children, Mary E. and Charles, when they moved into the house in 1864.

After an extended courtship, Mary E., better known  as Mayme or Mame, married William Riley Youse in 1893.  Their daughter, Mary, did not marry until after the deaths of her parents in the 1940's. Her husband, John J. Maxon, died in 1957.  Mary (Youse) Maxon died in 1982 at the age of 86.
